John Rencher, Jr.
John R. Rencher Jr. is an LU Graduate from the Class of ’90. He received a B.S. Degree in Business Administration with a Minor in Military Science. While attending Lincoln, John was recognized in Who’s Who, selected to the National Honor Roll and designated as an ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate.
John is married to Tracy Ezell Rencher, who is also a fellow Lincoln Alum, and has two Sons (John and Joshua).
He is currently employed as a General Manager (Senior Director) in the Walmart Grocery Supply Chain and has celebrated a 22 year career with the company. John’s assignments have taken him across the US, working in different capacities from Ohio to Arizona. He began his Walmart career in 1997 as an Operations Manager in the Plainview Texas Transportation group. In 1999, he was promoted to General Transportation Manager for the Grove City, Ohio operation. In this role he dedicated 16 years in service to customers of the tri-state area, development of the business and its leaders.
In March of 2015, he transitioned west to launch a new corporate initiative. John accepted a
Senior Leadership role in Phoenix Arizona established to help mold and pilot strategic approaches toward developing a sustainable Last Mile solution for the evolving On-line Grocery platform. He has been in his current role outside the Albuquerque NM area since November of 2017 where he has responsibility for leading Grocery Supply Chain operations for markets in NM, TX and CO.
Prior to Walmart, John served 8 years in the United States Army as a Patriot Missile Officer. While in the military, he supported and led multiple deployments overseas in support of Operations Desert Storm, Desert Shield and Southern Watch. He is an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity Inc. and has also served as Board Director with Columbus After-School All Stars, Greater Albuquerque African American Chamber of Commerce, and the United Way Executive Panel – Ohio.
