Sylvia L. James Wilson, MBA


Sylvia Wilson is a native of St. Louis, MO, a 1983 graduate of Lincoln University (MO) and provided more than 14 years of service as the Administrative Director in Auxiliary Services; and later, in Alumni Affairs for her alma mater.  She is a 2013 LU Distinguished Alumni recipient.


Wilson earned her MBA from Webster University in St. Louis, MO; is a proud Army veteran and a graduate of its Military Club Management School. She is a Certified Auxiliary Services Professional (CASP)-National Association of College Auxiliary Services and a certified Les Brown Motivational Trainer/Speaker.  An innovator, Wilson created, produced and directed the television show Spotlight on LU Alumni on JCTV with intent to bring positive attention to the LU Alumni Association.


Wilson brings consultative and administrative expertise in business and fiscal affairs, personnel

development, and program/project coordination. She similarly demonstrates exceptional, progressive and

highly successful approaches to leadership, management, and training practices supporting organization-wide strategic planning and initiatives.


Over the course of her career, Wilson’s excellence in marketing, sales, and business operations manifested in her roles as Financial Management Division Chief (Pusan, South Korea); executive producer and public relations director for Group 53 Consultants-Black Expo USA (KCMO); and CA One Airport Terminal Manager-New Orleans. She established, and continues to manage, multiple businesses such as Pinky’s Louisiana Kitchen, LLC and SLJ Wilson Consulting Group, LLC. She served as a board of director for the YMCA; and as international representative-at-large for the National Association of College Auxiliary Services.


Wilson is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and serves as financial secretary of the Gamma Epsilon Omega Chapter. She maintains a passion for the environment, cooking, gardening and learning foreign languages including French, Mandarin, Arabic, and Spanish.


She is the doting mother of three adult daughters and two adorable granddaughters.
