Shelvy L. Convert

 

 

Shelvy L. Convert, a native of Kansas City, MO and attended Lincoln University (MO) and brings extensive leadership and project management experience to the Foundation. He continued his civilian education by earning a BA in Applied Management from the National American University; a MSA in General Administration from Central Michigan University; and, a certificate in leadership from Central Michigan University.

 

During active-duty military service, Shelvy’s military education included completion of the Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Course, Drill instructor Course (X-ray identifier), Electronics Equipment Repair Course (H1-identifier), USASMA Academy-First Sergeants Course (M-identifier), Battle Staff (2S) Course, Tactical Electronic Warfare Course (1K), Counter Insurgency Course, Counter RCIED Electronic Warfare (CREW) Master Gunner Course. 

 

Shelvy served stateside at Fort Carson, Colorado, Fort Hood, Texas and Fort Sill, Oklahoma; with overseas service in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Germany, two tours in Iraq, South Korea. During 22 years of service, he trained, coached and mentored thousands of commissioned and non-commissioned officers.  He continues in service to the nation in government service spanning more than 33 years to date.

 

As a civilian, Shelvy continues in service as the Lead Training Support Advisor and Team Chief-Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRS) for the Department of the Army Civilian (DAC). A senior-level government program manager, he is responsible for multiple training support programs, accountable for over forty employees, military, civilian and contractors. Another area of responsible/ accountable for program resources in excess of more than $340M in resources and training capabilities across the Central and African Commands. 

 

Shelvy resides in Maryland with wife Rhonda, Son Shelvy III, and daughters Simone and Hope.
